What makes a good parent

Do you consider yourself to be a Good Parent? Or do you beat yourself up each time you scold your child or hurt there feelings. I know there are so many times I think why did I do that. If only there was an owners manual for Parenting.... but I quess we just have to do the best we can and hope it all turns out well in the end... right?
